The CryoFX Oxygen Deficiency and Enrichment Safety Alarm with Horn Strobes (CFX-RAD-0002-ZR-HS2) is a professional-grade oxygen monitoring system engineered to continuously detect both oxygen depletion and oxygen enrichment conditions in commercial and industrial environments. Formerly known as the CFX-RAD-0002-ZR, this fixed gas safety monitor measures ambient oxygen concentrations from 0% to 23% O₂, providing immediate audible and visual notification whenever oxygen levels move outside safe operating limits.

Unlike carbon dioxide, oxygen hazards can result from both oxygen-deficient atmospheres and oxygen-enriched environments, each presenting significant risks to personnel. Oxygen deficiency can rapidly lead to dizziness, unconsciousness, and asphyxiation, while oxygen enrichment dramatically increases fire and combustion hazards. The CFX-RAD-0002-ZR-HS2 continuously monitors ambient oxygen levels around the clock, providing early warning so corrective action can be taken before dangerous conditions develop.

Designed for demanding commercial applications, this oxygen safety alarm is commonly installed in laboratories, cryogenic storage facilities, pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical gas storage, research facilities, manufacturing plants, industrial gas rooms, process cooling systems, freezers, clean rooms, and facilities utilizing nitrogen, argon, helium, or other inert gases capable of displacing oxygen.

The system combines a highly reliable zirconium oxide oxygen sensor, capable of providing 10+ years of service life, with both a local alarm and a dedicated remote display and horn strobe, allowing personnel to monitor oxygen concentrations from a convenient location while maintaining highly visible alarm notification throughout the protected area. The remote display may be installed up to 300 feet from the primary monitoring unit, providing exceptional installation flexibility for a wide variety of facility layouts.

Three user-configurable alarm levels allow the system to be tailored to individual facility requirements while supporting applicable workplace safety standards. Integrated 4–20 mA output and programmable relays allow the monitor to interface with ventilation systems, building automation controls, emergency notification equipment, or additional monitoring devices.

The CryoFX Oxygen Deficiency and Enrichment Safety Alarm is also fully expandable through compatible accessories including centralized display units, power monitoring devices, additional remote displays, solenoid shut-off valves, and auxiliary horn strobe kits, allowing facilities to build a comprehensive oxygen safety monitoring solution.

Installation is simple using the included mounting hardware, disconnectable communication cable, and plug-in power supply. For long-term equipment protection and reliability, CryoFX recommends installing every monitor with a quality surge protector.
